Join us for Goram Fair, a funfair and community event that celebrates the legend of Goram, our local giant.

Watch some theatre, play games, explore the stalls, get crafty in a workshop, listen to some tall tales, take a ride on a vintage funfair, discover Blaise Castle, and meet the giant!

Go on an outdoor adventure through the woods to find out why there are giant footprints, a huge bath and a stone chair carved into the cliffs of Blaise Castle Estate. (Aimed at 5-7 year olds but all ages can take part.)

COURSE SUMMARY
The Spin City Beginners Pole Fitness Instructor Course will cover the fundamentals of safe and effective pole fitness Instruction. The focus of this course is twofold; part theory, part practical. Firstly we will give you a range of teaching and coaching techniques to make you a confident and effective instructor. This will be supported by relevant pole theory including teaching safe progression and correct postural alignment. We will also cover the practical aspects of running your classes from how to structure your syllabus to the process of writing class plans.
The second phase of this course is highly practical in nature, as we will teach you over 100 beginner’s pole fitness techniques. You will learn the first part of the Spin City pole syllabus, a series of strength and conditioning techniques to help your beginners progress and we will complete your practical training with beginners’ combinations, sequences and choreography. This course will provide you with every aspect you need to starting teaching confident and effective pole fitness classes in your community.

Pre-Requisites: Basic Pole Fitness experience along with introductory knowledge of anatomy and physiology is recommended but not required
Assessment: This course has a two part assessment; stage 1, complete your Instructor Workbook (theory assessment) stage 2, film and submit yourself teaching a beginner’s class (practical assessment)

With sardonic wit and incisive social critiques, David Sedaris has become one of America’s preeminent humor writers. The great skill with which he slices through cultural euphemisms and political correctness proves that Sedaris is a master of satire and one of the most observant writers addressing the human condition today.

Sedaris’ pieces appear regularly in The New Yorker and have twice been included in “The Best American Essays.” There are a total of ten million copies of is books in print and they have been translated into 25 languages.

He and his sister, Amy Sedaris, have collaborated under the name “The Talent Family” and have written half-a-dozen plays.These plays include Stump the Host, Stitches, One Woman Shoe, which received an Obie Award, Incident at Cobbler’s Knob, and The Book of Liz, which was published in book form by Dramatists Play Service.

David Sedaris’ original radio pieces can often be heard on the public radio show This American Life. David Sedaris has been nominated for three Grammy Awards for Best Spoken Word and Best Comedy Album. His latest audio recording of new stories (recorded live) is David Sedaris: Live for Your Listening Pleasure (November 2009). A feature film adaptation of his story C.O.G. was released after a premiere at the Sundance Film Festival (2013). Since 2011, he can be heard annually on a series of live recordings on BBC Radio 4 entitled “Meet David Sedaris.” David Sedaris’ next book will be a collection of his diaries, entitled Theft By Finding (summer 2017).

Welcome to Common Ground 2017! This year we will be hosting the event at The Black Swan, Bristol from Friday 1st September to Sunday 3rd September.

Venue will open at 3pm each day until late with bands, solo artists and soundsystems raising money for human and animal rights organisations across the world. 100% of profit goes to the chosen organisations (more info on these over the coming weeks.)

This year we will have workshops hosted over the weekend at the Kebele Social Center just a few minutes away from 12 midday to 2pm over the weekend, again more info on this coming soon.
