October 26, 2017 at Fromes New Venue – Name TBC in Frome.

Due to having to appear at an awards ceremony – Grumble Bee is unable to make the Frome Show 🙁

Stay tunes for announcement of replacement date…

One of 2016’s ones to watch, Grumble Bee are heading to Frome.

Grumble Bee – The multi instrumentalist Jack Bennet who released his debut 5 track EP to critical acclaim this year, including a 4/5 review in Kerrang magazine.
Grumble Bee have been knocking out audiences with their incendiary live dates at festivals and indoor shows.
Big things are about to happen for Grumble Bee so catch them now at this intimate venue while you have the chance.

Check out ‘Sky Writer’ from Grumble Bee’s debut solo EP ‘Disconnect’

The sound combines the intensity of Punk-Rock, and the feel of the 70’s and 80’s stadium greats, with the melody of a Pop band.
Forming in 2014 in the back bedroom of a house in the South West of England, wanting to be the change they all desired from the music of today!
The band launched that unique blend of Rock-Pop into the public eye in March 2015 by releasing an entirely self-made dark, yet upbeat, ‘The Otherside’ to rave reviews, and featured in the iTunes rock charts!
Following the release of ‘The Otherside’ they recorded their debut 5-track EP with world renowned producer Romesh Dodangoda (Bring Me The Horizon, Twin Atlantic, Lower Than Atlantis) at his studio in Cardiff.

“WITTERQUICK are a band with a massive sound and anthemic songs. I knew I wanted to work with them as soon as I heard Rise!” – Romesh Dodangoda – Long Wave Studios

Frome: Phil King

May 31, 2017 at Roots Sessions at the Grain Cafe Bar in Frome.

Phil has spent many years honing his craft as a performer on stages of all sizes around the UK, and Europe, picking up new fans wherever he plays. His taste as a writer and listener has always leaned towards the acoustic/folk/roots side of things, whether Robert Johnson or Big Bill Broonzy, Nick Drake or John Martyn, Bob Dylan or Neil Young. More recently, the likes of AA Bondy, Conor Oberst, Gillian Welch, Ryan Adams, Laura Marling, Fionn Regan and The Villagers have all had their influence.
His performances, to borrow the words of Tom Waits, are all about truth, and the conveyance of emotion, rather than impressive technical ability. His band mates on stage and on the new album all display their ability to sensitively serve the requirements of each song in their own way.
“Absolutely Brilliant. He is a Song Weaver.” – Bob Harris BBC Radio 2
“Always lyrical, tuneful and emotional, lovers of the darker side of folk and roots-based music will find plenty to enjoy.”
– R2 Rock’n’Reel Magazine
“Stunningly Beautiful, The Wreckage should expand his profile considerably.” – Folk Radio UK
“Phil’s songs are couched in the simple language of truth.” – Fatea Magazine

Frome: Reg Meuross

May 24, 2017 at Roots Sessions at the Grain Cafe Bar in Frome.

2017 heralds a new solo album from Reg Meuross. Faraway People is a fresh collection of songs which comment bravely on life as he sees it, bringing wide ranging stories, from the ravages of austerity and the injustice of the plight of refugees, to some of most beautifully disarming lyrics ever written. Reg has that rare gift of being able to touch people through his songs and performance, on a really human level. His words and music paint pictures that remain with the listener long after the song has been sung.

Reg Meuross is a true modern troubadour, representing contemporary English folk writing at its best. “There’s something special about the way he writes and delivers a song” Townes Van Zandt. His appearances at folk clubs and festivals throughout the UK and abroad, and his highly acclaimed solo albums have now established his songs as ‘the hinges upon which swing the doors of perceptive English folk’ (Folkwords).
“One of the most talented storytellers of our generation” Pennyblack Music
“Powerful and moving songwriting” Martin Chilton, The Telegraph
“A mighty songwriter and an equally fine singer” Martin Carthy
From 8:45pm. Admission free.
