La Event:
The spectacular 65 mile Cheshire Cycling Sportive Charity Event takes place on Sunday 10th September 2017 from Knutsford. This is the second year of the Cheshire Cycling Sportive Gold Cup. It will follow the same route as the inagural 2016 event, which included similar roads as used on the 3rd stage of the Tour of Britain 2016 which finished in Tatton Park, Knutsford. Enter online at www.cheshiresportive.co.uk.

Le Route:
Cycle through Cheshire’s most prestigious towns and villages Knutsford, Mobberley, Alderley Edge, Prestbury, Bollington and Pott Shrigley. The spectacular route passes Windgather Rocks, the beautiful Goyt Valley, Cat and Fiddle, Blaze, Swiss and Wizard hill totalling 5500ft of ascent over 65 miles over training roads used by the British Cycling Team.

Train-based walk 5 miles little ascent – Leader: Martin, joining at Stockport

Description: A short, fairly simple walk taking in the best of the town and Tatton Park. We start along King Street, before crossing Knutsford Moor and entering Tatton Park. We continue alongside Tatton Mere before the chance to visit the shops near the Hall. We return to town via the Beech Walk. The walk ends at Knutsford Heath in time for the festivities of Cheshire’s largest May Day festival. Hopefully the weather will be better than last time the group visited this event.

Meet Point: Piccadilly station for the train at 11:17

Suggested Ticket: Off Peak day return to Knutsford £7.30.

During this workshop the children will sow 3 different vegetables, runner beans, peas and carrots.

The runner beans will be sown in card board tubes, peas in guttering and the carrots will be sow in clear plastic pint cups so that the children can see what carrots look like when they are growing underground.

Returning for the 4th year, this family Country Fair will have something for everyone. All day entertainment will include the new Cavalry of Heroes Jousting Team, Jez Avery’s Stunt Bikes & Buggies, birds of prey flying displays, terrier racing, children’s entertainer Banana Brain, the Tallest Magic Show in the World, the goat show including bottle feeding lambs and kids, PADS Dog Training including have-a-go Agility and Scurry, children’s petting pens, historical re-enactment and much much more. Plus demonstrations of rural skills for you to enjoy.

Arts, crafts food drink and gifts marquees as well as outside trade stands.

Fully catered & with a licensed bar

And on Sunday at this event we are proud to host The Companion Dog Show (Companion Dog Show Schedule) so bring along a canine friend and have a go (all proceeds from entries go to Marie Curie care)
