Departing South Wales we head north to Birmingham.
Why not start your weekend off with a glass of mulled wine and mince pie at the famous Frankfurt Christmas market in Birmingham city centre.
The market itself has countless craft and food stalls and as you’ll be in touch the city centre you’ll have the added bonus of the fantastic Bullring centre to add to your shopping weekend!
That evening it’s back to the Holiday Inn at Derby to relax and unwind. Once checked in you’ll be treated to 2 nights evening meal, accommodation and full English the each morning.
An hours drive from the hotel, we head to one of the original settings for the UK Christmas markets.
The famous Lincoln Christmas Market takes place in Lincoln’s Cathedral Quarter. You will be sure to soak up the festive atmosphere across this large market site, with more than 280 stalls nestled in and around Lincoln Castle, Cathedral, the Lawn complex and many other venues and streets along the way.
There is something for everyone, from unusual gifts to food and drink from near and far, not to mention a whole host of entertainment for all the family to enjoy. Enjoy the scents of mulled wine and freshly cooked food, the sounds of entertainment, music and merriment and the sights of this market in this stunning, historic city.
Leaving that evening, returning to the hotel in time for your evening meal.
Stratford upon Avon.
We check out of our hotel and to the Medieval market town of Stratford. Famed for being the birthplace of Shakespeare, this is a vibrant town centre with typical high street shopping alongside independent stores, excellent restaurants and cafes. Add Ann Hathaways cottage and the opportunity to cruise on the river Avon and as the man himself said….. “I like this place and could willingly waste my time in it”…
