The Big LOVE ExperienceBliss Beyond Fear

“It’s a rare thing to find a therapist who can create a safe enough space in which the body releases its trauma. Seth is one of those rarities. Seth is a rigorous and talented coach when it comes to releasing trauma in the body. As a psychologist specialising in trauma, I would gladly refer my clients to Seth’s workshops.” – Dr Geoff Warburton

I loved the way Seth created a safe space to discharge the stress in the body and to free the soul to dance.”

London: Pierre-Laurent Aimard at Southbank Centre May 12, 2018

May 12, 2018 at Queen Elizabeth Hall in London.

Hear Ligeti’s complete Etudes played by the great French pianist PierreLaurent Aimard.

The 18 Etudes are arguably one of the most significant piano masterpieces of the last century.

Stretching the performer to extraordinary technical feats, they are unified by poetic imagery that ranges from Autumn in Warsaw to the ‘Sorcerer’s Apprentice’, from rainbows to ‘the Devil’s Staircase’.

Ligeti’s startling imagination, with all its quirky humour, virtuoso manipulation of rhythm and apparently limitless mix of sonic colour, has created a true contemporary classic.

This is a special opportunity to hear the complete Etudes played by the composer’s own preferred interpreter, and to explore the music further as he discusses it in an onstage interview in the second half.

Aimard’s stupendous technique, remorseless energy and fanatical… passion, were wondrous to encounter’ (The Times).

London: Khatia Buniatishvili at Southbank Centre May 9, 2018

May 09, 2018 at Queen Elizabeth Hall in London.

The young Georgian pianist Khatia Buniatishvili has swept the globe with her fiery musicianship.

She is known for her no-holds-barred risk-taking at the keyboard. Praised for her `keyboard magic of exceptional sensitivity’ and ‘jaw-dropping virtuoso technique’ (Evening Standard) she has won a devoted following among concert audiences worldwide.

Her programme opens with the expansive and impassioned Sonata No.3, a youthful masterpiece by Brahms. The second half is dedicated to dazzling virtuoso music by Liszt – the stirring Rhapsodie espagnole – and two Russian ballet transcriptions that rework the colourful thrill of a full orchestra for the piano alone. The first is Mikhail Pletnev’s sympathetic version of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite, and to close, Buniatishvili performs Guido Agosti’s glittering arrangement of three movements from Stravinsky’s The Firebird.

Brahms: Piano Sonata No.3 in F minor, Op.5
Liszt: Rhapsodie espagnole, S.254
Tchaikovsky: The Nutcracker Suite arr. Pletnev for piano
Stravinsky: 3 Movements from The Firebird Suite transc. Guido Agosti for piano

London: Benjamin Grosvenor at Southbank Centre April 26, 2018

April 26, 2018 at Queen Elizabeth Hall in London.

Benjamin Grosvenor enchanted audiences when he won the piano final of BBC Young Musician of the Year. It was 2004 and he was just 11 years old.

Now the young British pianist has built an international career, celebrated as ‘a genuine talent of the old school’ (The Telegraph).

He opens this recital with the delicate, ebullient French Suite No.5 by Bach. This is followed by a cocktail of Brahms’ last set of piano pieces, interspersed with a contemporary tribute to them: Brett Dean’s interludes Hommage à Brahms.

The second half consists of a rare arrangement of Debussy’s sensual orchestral tone-poem Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune.

It precedes Alban Berg’s opulent Sonata Op.1 and Ravel’s set of poetry-inspired, pictorial pieces, the dazzling, ferociously virtuosic Gaspard de la nuit.

Bach: French Suite No.5 in G, BWV.816
Brahms: 4 Pieces for piano, Op.119
Brett Dean: Hommage à Brahms for piano
Debussy: Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune arr. Leonard Borwick/George Copeland for piano
Berg: Piano Sonata, Op.1
Ravel: Gaspard de la nuit

London: Amszterdam és Keukenhof tulipánmezők csoportos kirándulás

April 13, 2018 at Tomi Londoni-Taxis in London.

Keukenhof– A világ legnagyobb virágoskertje. A hollandiai Lisse városka mellett található, Amszterdamtól délnyugatra. Méretei miatt gyakran Európa kertjének is nevezik. A hivatalos adatok szerint kb. 7 millió virághagymát ültetnek el évente a 32 hektáros parkban. A park minden évben március utolsó hetétől, május közepéig látogatható. A leglátványosabb a tulipánok virágzása idején, április közepén.
A kert többször is gazdát cserélt. A 19. században Van Pallandt báró és báróné Jan David Zocher kertépítészt és fiát Louis Paul Zochert bízták meg a kastély körüli kertek rendezésével. A virágoskert 32 hektárnyi területén 87 különböző fafajta és 100 nemesített tulipánfajta pompázik.

London: Stephen Hough at Southbank Centre April 5, 2018

April 05, 2018 at Royal Festival Hall in London.

Stephen Hough has been hailed as ‘our foremost pianist’ (The Sunday Times).

The Boston Globe calls him ‘simply one of the most interesting musicians around’.

His recital programmes are always ideas-focused, and today he makes an unusual pairing of German Romantic music with French musical impressionism from Debussy.

That composer’s two books of Images, pieces whose imaginative textures absorb us in a series of exotic scenes, are complemented by his two best-known moonlit works, the tender Clair de Lune and the prelude La terrasse des audiences au clair de lune.

The first half then plunges into Robert Schumann’s turbulent outpouring of love for his distant beloved, the pianist Clara Wieck, in the Fantasie in C.

The second half is completed by Beethoven’s Sonata Op.57, the Appassionata, a tempestuous work of transcendental power.

Debussy: Clair de lune from Suite bergamasque for piano; Images for piano, Set 2
Schumann: Fantasie in C, Op.17
Debussy: La terrasse des audiences du clair de lune, No.7 from Préludes, Bk.2; Images for piano, Set 1
Beethoven: Piano Sonata in F minor, Op.57 (Appassionata)
