SPECIAL KINDA MADNESS
(https://www.facebook.com/specialkindamadness)
“Back in 1979, pop was getting dull again. Everyone said it was time for a new dance. No-one expected it to come from Coventry. The 2-Tone revolution, led by the Specials, took the pop world by surprise with their infectious mix of Ska rhythms and punk attitude. Madness … followed close on their heels. Within a matter of months the 2-Tone bands had stolen our hearts and conquered the charts with a non-stop procession of unforgettable hits: ‘Gangsters’, ‘A Message to you Rudy’, ‘Too Much Too Young’, ‘The Prince’, ‘One Step Beyond’, ‘My Girl’ …”
An extract from Dance Craze by Garry Bushell

On 21st July 1979 at the Electric Ballroom in London, the Specials played a gig with Madness, Dexy’s Midnight Runners and Selecter. That’s a gig that all 2-Tone rude boys and rude girls would die to see, and thought would never happen. The Specials and Madness on the same bill!

In truth, it will probably never happen now … but you can get the next best thing!

Special Kinda Madness play a truly authentic set from each band, matching the incredible energy of The Specials with the unforgettable iconic songs of Madness. Producing a show that will have the audience up and dancing from the start, Special Kinda Madness will have everyone hankering back to those exciting days of 2-Tone and Ska.

The Specials and Madness together. Wow! Catch’em now while you can!

London Classic Theatre present a major new touring production of Noël Coward’s sparkling comedy.

In Private Lives, strong passions and stronger personalities set the stage for a classic battle of the sexes.

1930. The South of France. Two newly-married couples occupy adjoining honeymoon suites in the same hotel. As a distant orchestra plays, Sibyl gazes adoringly at charismatic husband Elyot, while Victor admires his new wife, the vivacious and sophisticated Amanda. Champagne flows and the sea shimmers in the moonlight as the newlyweds prepare for the evening ahead. But when Amanda overhears a familiar voice singing a forgotten song, an old spark reignites, with spectacular consequences.

Full of razor-sharp wit and quick-fire dialogue, Private Lives is Noël Coward’s most popular and enduring stage comedy.Extraordinarily written in only three days, Private Lives opened at London’s Phoenix Theatre in August 1930 to packed houses. Since then, this charming comedy of manners has retained its remarkable appeal, captivating audiences all over the world.

Creedence Clearwater Review
Creedence Clearwater Review are perhaps now the definitive Creedence Clearwater Revival Tribute Band in the UK. This is result of extensive hard work by four talented musicians, dedicated to the music of both Creedence Clearwater Revival and John Fogherty’s later solo career material, Performing a range of their material consisting of all of their biggest, classic hits, album tracks and wonderful obscurities.

The Creedence and Fogerty catalogue includes Bad Moon Rising, Up Around The Bend, Proud Mary, Suzie Q, Green River, Born On The Bayou, Rockin’ All Over The World (later covered by Status Quo), and many, many more.

The aim has been to avoid slavishly following album tracks but rather to re-interpret the bands massive back catalogue in a similar manner to John Fogherty’s performances with his current band. Dale Taylor takes up the role of John Fogherty on guitar and vocals with the boundless energy of his generation and with the solid experience of the band, providing a fantastic quality yet power packed delivery of the original band’s classic songs.
